What the seed and the locks do
The seed is the whole animal, and every draw is seeded and reproducible: the same seed with the same locks always gives the same plate, so one worth keeping can be written down and reopened. Each axis is lockable — lock one to hold it while the rest rerolls — and locking two axes that contradict each other is allowed: the contradiction survives and the plate says so. The sampler is biased away from the archetype: each axis’s most obvious option is weighted down to about a quarter, and a draw landing within four axes of the archetype is pushed off it.

Why nothing you type reaches the renderer
The instruction sent to the image model is composed entirely from this app’s own closed vocabulary: the eight axes, their fixed phrasings, and the anatomy the coherence engine derives from them. Your note steers which axis options get chosen; it is never rendered. Before sending, the brief is recompiled from the axes and the seed alone with the note held empty, and the run is refused if the two differ by a single byte.
The content guard is separate, and it reads the brief this app writes for itself as well as anything you type — before the estimate, before the run, before a credit is reserved. Four rules, each stated as the thing plus the route to the thing: no likeness of a real person, and describing someone counts the same as naming them; no opened or displayed anatomical interior, and a route inward counts the same as one already open; nothing sexual; no restaging of a real catastrophe. Deliberately in scope: predation, skeletons, fossils, museum specimens, parasites, carrion, venom, decay and the genuinely unsettling.
How the plate is priced
Rendering is the only metered step; the composer, the coherence engine, the hybrid checker, the derived anatomy, the exports, the content guard and the bundled example all run in this browser and cost nothing. Image runs are priced per image rather than per word, so the reserve does not move with the length of the brief and one estimate covers every plate this app can compile.
The reserve is not the price. It is the ceiling held while the plate is drawn; the settled charge is what the model actually used and has measured a good deal lower. Only the reserve can be known in advance, which is why it is the figure quoted at the button.
